Punjabi  cuisine has a rich tradition of many distinct and local ways of cooking including a special form of tandoori cooking. Punjabi cuisine is known for its rich, buttery flavours and aromatic spices incorporating an extensive range of vegetarian and meat dishes. Tandoor is a cylindrical clay oven, fired to a high heat by wood or charcoal, in which foods, especially meats, are cooked and bread is baked.
